Jenna Ortega Just Gave Us A Lesson In 'Method Glam' Beauty With Her Gothic Make-Up
With method dressing a custom so commonplace on press tours now, it was inevitable that Jenna Ortega would bring a dose of gothic glamour to the red carpet promotion of Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. But, unlike a sartorial theme such as tenniscore for Zendaya's promotion of The Challengers, Ortega's 'tourdrobe' for the Beetlejuice sequel is also a reflection of her personal style – making the photo ops all the more mesmerising.
Ahead of the Tim Burton-directed sequel's release on the 6th of September, the actor has already worn a Beetlejuice-inspired striped Dolce & Gabbana skirt suit, a sculpted custom leather Lurline dress, and a corseted mesh-meets-black PVC lace Vivienne Westwood gown – all of which play into the film's theme but aren't divorced from Ortega's alluring signature style.

Naturally, the aesthetic extends to her glam, too, with details that complete the overall looks. From the blood red stiletto nails to the pewter smouldering eye make-up, stained lips and jet-black hair, it serves dark fantasy inspiration for the coming autumn/winter months should you want to lean into a gothic look that doesn't scream Halloween.
For many, Ortega's goth glam will feel like the perfect aesthetic evolution of 'Brat summer' – an energy many have channelled following the sentiment (synonymous with Charli XCX) flooding the spirit of the time. A different type of rebellious portrayal, perhaps 'Brat black' will replace the acid green pigments that reflect the album’s artwork when it comes to hair, make-up and nails next season, or, at least, offer a fresh take on subverting the 'quiet luxury' look that ruled this time last year.
