Simplicity at its best.

Jennifer Aniston's Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and SAG Award win almost didn't happen. During an appearance on the Smartless podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, Aniston explained that because of an ″unprepared project,″ she almost quit acting altogether. That's good to know for any producers who want Aniston involved with anything: the actor is a fan of efficiency and preparation.

″I would have to say the last two years that has crossed my mind, which it never did before,″ she said of stepping away from the entertainment industry. ″I was like, 'Whoa, that sucked the life out of me.' I don't know if this is what interests me."

She went on to recount some of her more notable roles, mentioning that (of course) Rachel Green would be her favorite character. Her time with Adam Sandler also topped the list, she says, because the two are good friends and have worked with each other for so long.

″I always love shooting with Sandler," she said. "Just Go With It was super fun. [Sandler and I have] known each other since we were 19."

As for her most creatively fulfilling role, that goes to Cake.

″Everything I imagined as an actor I'd be completely afraid of and suck at, I didn't so bad," she said of the role, which earned her nominations at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards.

And if she really did quit? Aniston says that she would have pivoted into her other passion: interior design.

″I love it. It's my happy place. It's really a happy place for me," she said.
