Jennifer Lopez Is Cozy but Chic in a Tan Flannel Top and White Pants While House Hunting With Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez blended cozy style with a fashion-forward look, stepping out in a tan and cream flannel top and white pants while out looking at properties with her husband Ben Affleck. The couple was photographed out with their realtor, viewing a large property in Pacific Palisades. Affleck was casual but coordinated with his own outfit, pairing a navy sweater with jeans and colorful Nike sneakers. It was a cool-tone look to complement Lopez's earth tones.
Lopez and Affleck have been looking at properties for months. Lopez spoke to Vogue for its December issue about her and Affleck's process merging their households. The two have children from their previous marriages. Lopez shares 15-year-old twins Emme and Max with her ex Marc Anthony, while Affleck has 17-year-old Violet, 14-year-old Seraphina, and 11-year-old Samuel with Jennifer Garner.
“The transition is a process that needs to be handled with so much care,” Lopez said. “They have so many feelings. They’re teens. But it’s going really well so far. What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him, someone who really loves and cares about them but can have a different perspective and help me see things that I can’t see with my kids because I’m so emotionally tied up.”
She also addressed parenting them, as the kids are growing up with much more privilege than most given their celebrity parents. “It’s hard, in its own way, when you don’t have to fight for things, because then you don’t learn how to be a fighter,” she said of her twins' upbringing versus hers in the Bronx, in a non-famous family. “I had to learn how to be a fighter. I wanted to give them a life that I didn’t have, but they don’t get to have the experience of something that is also helpful, which is developing that survivalist mentality.”
Lopez added that she has purposely tried to avoid raising her voice to her children and aims to keep her temper, which she says her mother did not do with her. “I really wanted to find a better way than having to put the fear in them,” she said. “It’s like, I can hold a boundary with you but also be your ally. That’s the balance, where they respect you enough because you act in a way that they can look up to. It’s what I feel like I want to do because when I was young that wasn’t what it was.”
