Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Paulson, Lucy Liu: Cast your vote for the best and worst-dressed celebrities of the week
From the LACMA Film and Art Gala to numerous movie premieres, we're rounding up the best and worst fashion of the week.
Between the controversial results of the U.S. election and rising deaths in Gaza, to the death of a music pioneer and a TV icon's cancer diagnosis, it's been a heavy week. While staying up to date on the latest events is important for many people's day-to-day lives, stepping aside for a break from the news cycle can sometimes be a good idea.
So, what better way to escape than debate the best and worst-dressed celebrities of the week? Between Jennifer Lopez's recent Inspector Gadget-like outfit to Sarah Paulson's divine look at the LACMA Gala, we're rounding up this week's most noteworthy fashion.
Below, read more about the looks from five best-dressed stars and five worst-dressed A-listers. Then, go ahead and cast your vote for which celebrities should be crowned each title this week.
BEST DRESSED: Lucy Liu
What we really needed during this dark week was a brave celebrity to step out wearing a bright colour, inviting all of us holiday season lovers in with a warm (eyes-only) hug. Lucy Liu did just that with the red pantsuit she wore for the Red One premiere in London on Wednesday.
The 55-year-old actress wore the long-sleeve Greta Constantine Spring 2025 piece and posed in front of a Christmas-themed backdrop complete with a pile of wrapped gifts. The long, loose tie she wore around her neck was a great add-on, making the Charlie's Angels star look immaculately fit for the season.
WORST DRESSED: Jodie Comer
Oh, Jodie Comer. If I was thrown into an interview room with the 31-year-old star of The Bikeriders star right this second, the very first question I'd ask would be about the choice to wear this outfit for the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards.
It's one thing to step out at a high-profile event wearing this questionable sequin mini dress from 16Arlington. But to top off your ensemble with some of the worst-looking shoes to ever grace such a outing (really? A thong sandal?) is a fashion crime.
BEST DRESSED: Lashana Lynch
Sometimes, you simply need a chic, all-black gown to make a fashion statement — and that's exactly what Lashana Lynch on Thursday. At an Italian screening for The Day of the Jackal, the 36-year-old soon-to-be-mom wasn't afraid to show off her baby bump.
The actress wore a figure-hugging, long-sleeve turtleneck dress featuring a one-metre train to the event. She elevated the classic look with leather boots, a bold red lip and large silver belt buckle-style earrings.
WORST DRESSED: Jennifer Lopez
Halloween is sadly over this year. But did someone let Jennifer Lopez know that? The 55-year-old pop icon wore a Christian Dior ready-to-wear look for a screening of Unstoppable in London on Thursday.
The ensemble featured a black turtleneck and white trench coat, which she accessorized with shiny black boots and the Mini Lady Dior Bag from the fashion house, which was inspired by Princess Diana. But what really throws this look off is the black wide-brimmed bucket hat on her head that looks a bit too big to be stylish.
BEST DRESSED: Olivia Palermo
If there was a photo of myself looking this fashionable and cool, you'd first of all see me wearing nothing else. Secondly, that photo would be plastered everywhere possible: My favourite local coffee shop, every profile photo on social media, my parents' fridge.
Olivia Palermo was a gothic vision in the lace-trimmed Rodarte black dress she wore in New York on Wednesday. The stunning sheer dress featured a black ribbon moment around her chest, and she paired the look with chunky boots, a small leather bag, a choker and large dark sunglasses.
WORST DRESSED: Raye
A fashion miss from Raye could only really happen on an already-confusing week. Still, the baby blue long-sleeve dress the 27-year-old singer wore to the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday could've been better.
The dress featured a flat neckline and a belt adorned with a shell piece. Its skirt fell to the artist's ankles, showing off a pair of mirrored silver open-toe heels.
BEST DRESSED: Brandi Cyrus
When do you ever really hear about Brandi Cyrus? The answer might be "pretty much never," so putting the 37-year-old older sister of pop icon Miley Cyrus on this list might come as a bit of a shock. However, the cowgirl-inspired look she wore for the Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 premiere on Thursday was very cute.
Rocking a pair of — you guessed it — brown western boots, the DJ played into the hit TV show's theme with a brown long blazer under a cowhide bralette-style piece featuring a large belt buckle.
WORST DRESSED: Kiernan Shipka
Kiernan Shipka unfortunately keeps landing on this worst-dressed celebrity list, but someone must do the tough work of calling out whoever continues to put stars in outfits that look like testicles. A couple of weeks ago, it was Kate Beckinsale who was getting dragged for her ballet-style dress that resembled balls. Now, the 24-year-old Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star should, arguably, be next.
Attending a screening of Red One in London on Wednesday, Shipka wore a sleeveless white shirt that flared out into two, rounded hemlines. The look was paired with high-waisted black shorts, mesh tights and black platform heels.
BEST DRESSED: Sarah Paulson
Sarah Paulson's look for the 2024 LACMA Art and Film Gala might not resonate with many people, but I don't care — curate your own list. The 49-year-old American Horror Story actress looked divine at the event last Saturday, wearing a striking black and white ensemble from the Altuzarra Spring 2025 collection.
The look featured a layered, V-neck top that featured beautiful scalloped hemlines, while the black skirt kept things classic with a touch of sheer. Paulson rocked a bright red lip and a slicked back hairstyle to complete the look, and carried a small black pouch bag for the evening in Los Angeles.
WORST DRESSED: Emily Ratajkowski
Emily Ratajkowski has finally stepped out wearing a silhouette you typically never see her in — and of course, it had to be a fashion flop. The 33-year-old model attended the 2024 LACMA Art and Film Gala wearing an archival Donna Karan New York dress that tried to blend too many patterns into one outfit.
The off-the-shoulder brown gown featured a satin bodice with sleeves that hung over her hands. But the rest of the dress flowed into a velvet skirt that was a black-brown colour. Still, Old Hollywood-style waves and a soft glam make-up look at least saved part of this ensemble.
