Last year, Renner broke over 30 bones and underwent multiple surgeries after his snowplow ran him over while he was helping his nephew get a stuck vehicle out of the snow at his property in Reno on New Year's Day.

Since the accident, the Avengers: Endgame star has been open about his journey to recovery. In an emotional Instagram post in November, Renner revealed all the treatments he's been having to aid his return to health.

“I have been exploring EVERY type of therapy since Jan 14th … everyday," he wrote. “Countless hours of physical therapy, peptide injections, iv drips and pushes, stem cell and exosomes, red light / IR therapy, hyperbaric chamber 2.0 atmospheres, cold plunge, and the list goes on and on….”

Renner then went on to say that his greatest therapy has been "his mind" and his "will to keep pushing through his recovery." He added that he felt it is his "his duty" to be "exceptional" after his accident, noting, "Not to squander my life being spared, but to give back to my family, friends, and all of you whom have empowered me to endure.”
