The founder of Stila, Jeanine Lobell, has a new(ish) makeup brand called Neen that makes clean, sustainable, and pigmented multi-use makeup products. The brand has quickly become a go-to among beauty editors and celebrities; last week, Jessica Chastain’s sculpted and beaming complexion on the Toronto International Film Festival red carpet included Neen’s Pretty Shiny Cream Highlighter.

This is not the first time this exact Neen product has been in the spotlight. Earlier this year, Sarah Jessica Parker wore it on the set of And Just Like That as Carrie Bradshaw. Lobell was responsible for Chastain’s red carpet look and used the highlighter in Metta (a buttery gold) on the actress — the same shade  SJP wore.

Like many of the best new makeup products, Neen’s highlighter also has skincare benefits. It’s formulated with humectant avocado oil and emollients camellia and sunflower oils that keep your skin hydrated and lock in moisture throughout the day. Gold pigment also acts like skincare — it gets slightly absorbed and looks like second skin rather than a layer of makeup.

Besides Metta, Pretty Shiny Highlighter comes in pink (Luna) and lavender (Frosty). Regardless of what shade you pick, the finish is shiny, dewy, and glowy without any tacky glitter flakes that more closely resemble eyeshadow.

Its shopper fanbase is growing alongside its celebrity one. A reviewer said, “You can use this anywhere,” adding, “[it] looks so good when I mix it with my moisturizer or bronzer… [it’s] perfect for that subtle natural glow.”

A Nordstrom reviewer said that not only does Neen’s highlighter last through eight-hour work shifts, but it still looks “shiny as ever.” “It blends in perfectly on bare skin and with other makeup without pilling up or becoming streaky,” they concluded.

Head to Neen to shop the Pretty Shiny Cream Highlighter responsible for Jessica Chastain’s sky-high cheekbones and Sarah Jessica Parker's smooth complexion.
