Jil Sander Launches Six Haute Fragrances jil sander

The ‘less is more’ attitude is a founding principle of Jil Sander. The brand took off in the nineties for the minimalist look that would help to define the decade, and has since been producing refined, fuss-free menswear loved by the anti-tryhard types.

Now, Jil Sander are bringing that effortless ethos to the world of luxury perfumes with six new fragrances.

The Olfactory Series 1 collection has been crafted under the guidance of the brand’s creative directors, Lucie and Luke Meier, who’ve brought on five perfumers to perfect the scents.

Julie Mass has created ‘Leaf’ and ‘Earth’; the former evokes fruit leaves in a Mediterranean garden while the latter will have you thinking of dampened soil after a bought of rain.

Mathilde Bijaoui’s ‘Miel’ has strong notes of Buckwheat Honey (the fragrance’s name is its translation in French), while ‘Black Tea’, designed by Nathalie Lorson, is spicy and warm. Paul Guerlain’s ‘Coffee’ fragrance will give you a caffeine-free perk, and Berenice Watteau has made ‘Smoke’ with upcycled Cedarwood, Cade from Spain, and CO2 extracted Elemi.

In keeping with the classic design codes of the fashion house, the perfume bottles have been designed to be simple yet eye-catching, made in collaboration with Milano and Rotterdam-based design studio Formafantasma. The Bluebell-esque shape comes with an aluminium cover that veils the bottle to protect it from light.

With these fragrances, expect a positive reception to your scent as well as your outfit. When it comes to the amount of Jil Sander products you can wear at once, ‘less is more’ doesn’t apply.
