Jimmy John's unveils a new sandwich with giant pickles instead of bread: See what's on it
Have you ever taken a bite of a sandwich and thought, "Hmm, this would be a lot better if the two pieces of bread were replaced with pickles"? If so, Jimmy John's is introducing the perfect sandwich for you.
The sandwich chain is unveiling the Picklewich for a limited time, the company announced on Thursday. The Picklewich "combines all the signature fresh flavors of a classic Jimmy John's sandwich," the company said, but with a twist – a giant kosher dill pickle replaces the bread, offering a "juicy, crunchy and satisfying bite."
The company said there will be two variations of the Picklewich: the Vito and the Turkey & Provolone.
Vito Picklewich: Features a jumbo kosher dill pickle gutted and filled with salami, capocollo, provolone cheese and fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, sauce and herbs.
The Turkey Picklewich: Features a jumbo kosher dill pickle gutted and filled with turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion.
The sandwiches will be available at participating locations nationwide starting Oct. 28 through Nov. 14, according to the sandwich chain.
Freaky Fast Reward members will receive 50% off the Picklewich when they purchase any 8-inch sandwich on Nov. 3 in honor of National Sandwich Day, Jimmy John's said in the news release. Additionally, starting Nov. 3, customers can order their favorite 8-inch sandwich any time after 2 p.m. and make it a combo for free, which includes a bag of chips and a drink, through December.
Pickle Jimmy Chips also making a return
In addition to the Picklewich, the sandwich chain is also bringing back their Pickle Jimmy Chips, which the company describes as a "salty, sour, dilly twist" on their classic Jimmy Chips.
