‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ To Launch Director’s Cut

John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to launch an extended director's cut.

The fourth installment in the John Wick franchise was released this past March and has grossed over $432 million USD worldwide – making it the franchise's highest-grossing film. Additionally, the latest film was the longest installment, which clocked in at 2 hours and 49 minutes. Now, the film is set to be even longer with the forthcoming release of its director's cut.

The new edition is currently in production and is set to include an additional 10-15 minutes alongside characters that did not make the theater version. "We cut out a big chunk of Berlin, a whole character called The Frau, which is a pretty funny scene with John, and another scene between him and Tracker, a few other little action beats that we put back in," director Chad Stahelski told Comic Book Movie.

"I mean, yeah, there’s always stuff we take out because it doesn’t fit the pacing. I think the stuff is all super quality, I love the choreo, I love the characters," said Stahelski. "It just didn’t – as a whole, it changed the pace of the film. I think we got away with it because it felt driven, it felt like it was very purposeful, and I didn’t want to upset that pace."

The new director's cut of John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to arrive soon, with the original version available now for digital download and rental.
