Now before all you traditionalists go off about how making paper bag turkey isn’t close to an authentic holiday meal, know that this recipe from Food.com appears more lowbrow that it is.
With rave reviews suggesting the creative cooking method is one of the most effective ways to keep a turkey moist, it’s probably worth your while to try it, even if just once.
Here are all the ingredients you’ll need:
1 (12 -16 lb) whole turkey (any size)
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup kosher salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
1 tablespoon Montreal chicken seasoning (a mixture of coarse salt, course ground pepper and garlic granules)
prepared stuffing, your favourite
1 tablespoon olive oil
