This past weekend, model Kaia Gerber emerged from the 1017 Alyx GSM fashion show in Paris wearing newsprint jeans from sustainable fashion label Reformation. She styled them with a white tee and a Matrix-inspired long leather coat.
We can’t help but wonder if this ‘90s-inspired look will stand the test of time.
Described as “smart ass jeans,” this slim-fitting pair features a high-rise waist and a black and white comic pattern throughout.

Kaia Gerber isn’t the only celebrity who loves these divisive pants. Kendall Jenner was also been spotted wearing the same newsprint jeans on her way to the Art Basel VIP preview in Miami late last year. The model paired her pants with a black crop top, Adidas Stan Smiths ($110) and the Louis Vuitton Twist MM bag ($4,400) in silver, which gave her a super laidback high-low look.
This isn’t the first time Jenner rocked this trend. In March 2019, the 24-year-old star shared a flirty beach picture on Instagram of herself wearing a newsprint bikini by Dipped in Blue.
While these Reformation jeans have the Yahoo Canada team divided, they are currently sold out in every size — but are said to be back in stock very soon.
