Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler Are the Hollywood It Couple at the Oscars After-Party
Kaia Gerber did join boyfriend Austin Butler on Oscars night after all. Though she didn't make it to the ceremony, she met up with him later, at the Vanity Fair after party.
Hollywood's It couple walked the carpet at the fête in sleek party looks. The model wore a silver crystal-encrusted halter-neck slipdress with an opening at the bust and a high leg slit. She paired it with matching crystal-embellished black heeled sandals, a diamond ring, and diamond earrings. For makeup, Gerber opted for a smoky bronzy eye and a pink glossy lip. Her hair was down in relaxed waves.
Butler changed out of the black velvet suit by Saint Laurent he wore to the ceremony and instead dressed in another look by the fashion house: a plunging silky purple pussy bow blouse, paired with an oversized double-breasted black blazer, and matching trousers. He finished the look with shiny dress shoes and a subtle diamond necklace.
Over the weekend Gerber was across the country at South by Southwest, a media and entertainment event that takes place annually in Austin, Texas, so it was unlikely she would make it back to Los Angeles in time for the 2023 Oscars celebrations. Still, she found a way to travel back after the premiere of her upcoming comedy film, Bottoms, which took place Saturday.
Gerber and Butler have been dating since December 2021. Back in May 2022, they made their Cannes Film Festival debut—one of their first public appearances—to celebrate the premiere of Elvis, the Baz Luhrmann film in which Butler portrays the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley. Butler is nominated for Best Actor at tonight's Oscars for his role in the biopic.
