Mental health is a cause near and dear to the British Royal Family. Ahead of World Mental Health Day, Kate Middleton paid a visit to the University of Derby to meet with faculty and students to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on campus life.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a $399 checkered wool coat by Massimo Dutti in and floral Amaia Kids face mask as she arrived for a socially distanced chat about education and student-life during the pandemic.

Middleton coordinated the gingham print of her coat with a $219 aquamarine crewneck cashmere sweater, also by Massimo Dutti, black tailored trousers and her go-to $ 1,054 ($795 USD) Gianvito Rossi Pumps for a polished, collegiate-inspired look.

Inside the university, Middleton spoke to students and staff who explained the ways in which the university is supporting students who feel isolated from their friends and family during lockdown. To school has developed a peer-mentoring program for nursing students so that undergraduates have a “buddy” in the year above them.

According to Hello! the Duchess was pleased to learn that students have “so much support” including a student lead mental health charity called Student Minds, which helps connect students to mental health resources.
