Kate Middleton’s Easter Outfits Through the Years: Custom Coats by Alexander McQueen, Catherine Walker and More
Last week, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales returned to the spotlight after spending months recovering from surgery. The royal revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
It’s unclear whether Middleton will attend Easter services this year along with the rest of the royal family, a long-standing tradition enjoyed by the late Queen Elizabeth II. Since marrying into the high-profile brood, the Princess of Wales has traveled to Windsor for church services at St. George’s Chapel.

As the holiday approaches, WWD looks back at all of Middleton’s Easter ensembles.
2014
When they were still known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate embarked on a three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand with their first son, Prince George. While attending a church service in Sydney, the Princess of Wales wore a pale blue funnel neck coat by Alexander McQueen, adding on a taupe suede clutch from the British label and matching L.K. Bennett pumps. She topped off her look with a ribbon-embellished headpiece.
2017
In 2017, Middleton sported a cream coat that was custom-made by Catherine Walker, one of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana’s favorite designers. Underneath, Middleton wore a pleated Whistles skirt, accessorizing with an Etui Bags envelope clutch and nude leather pumps by Rupert Sanderson. The Princess completed her ensemble with a satin pillbox hat from Lock & Co. and a pair of pearl earrings loaned from Queen Elizabeth II.
2018
While pregnant with her third child, Prince Louis, Middleton sported a chocolate brown maternity coat by Catherine Walker, which she originally wore in 2015. The Princess of Wales added on a velour felt hat by Lock & Co., as well as a pair of suede Gianvito Rossi pumps. Her other accessories included a Loeffler Randall lizard print clutch and Balenciaga pearl earrings.
2019
Middleton re-wore her 2014 Easter look while attending services at St. George’s Chapel in 2019, swapping out her accessories for a pair of gray suede heels and a matching envelope clutch, both by Emmy London.
2022
The Princess of Wales coordinated with Princess Charlotte on Easter in 2022. Both opted for powder blue shades, with Middleton donning a custom Emilia Wickstead coat dress and a matching Emmy London suede clutch. She accentuated her look with slightly darker blue hues, wearing a crepe pleated headband by Jane Taylor and suede pumps, also from Emmy London.
