Kate Middleton's laid back look featured $465 weather-resistant ankle booties
The children of LEYF (London Early Years Foundation) Stockwell Gardens Nursery & Pre-School received the royal treatment during a visit from the Duchess of Cambridge.
The visit was part of a recent media blitz to help promote “Five Big Questions on the Under Fives,” an initiative spearheaded by Kate Middleton and the Royal Foundation to gain insight into the needs of parents across Britain.
“It’s great to visit places like this were communities come together to support one another,” Middleton told staff. “Last week I launched a U.K. wide survey on early childhood because I want to hear society’s views about raising the next generation.”
During her visit to Stockwell, the Duchess revealed that they have already received more than 100,000 responses from parents since the Jan. 22 launch. The findings will be used to help the royal and her charities focus their efforts for young families.
The Duchess was quickly put to work, helping serve breakfast to the waiting group of students. The mother-of-three spoke with staff about the importance of nutrition in early childhood development and sat with students, asking them questions before stopping to play in the sand box.
Middleton ditched her typical formal fashion in favour of a laid-back look for her morning engagement. The Duchess arrived wearing black skinny jeans, a $165 merino wool Sézane sweater, a colourful teal coat from Jigsaw ($464) and her trusty Aquatalia Fallon Black Chelsea Boots.
