The Windsor family has a host of Christmas traditions, which include recognizable moments like their annual Christmas cards, presents exchanged on Christmas Eve, and the yearly royal Christmas broadcast. However, there are less well-known conventions as well. For example, royal tradition dictates that Will and Kate spend their mornings apart on Dec. 25 due to the assumption that the women of the royal family take longer to get ready for the annual festivities.

Among the most well-known customs is the location of the royal family's annual Christmas festivities. The Windsors have gathered for the holidays at Sandringham House, the private home of British monarchs since 1862, for generations. Their walk to St. Mary Magdalene Church on Christmas morning has also become something of a ritual, as well as their reliable public appearance on the holiday. Last year, King Charles and Queen Camilla led the family for the first time in their royal reign, returning to the ritual for the first time since 2019 due to the pandemic.

This year proved no exception, as King Charles and Queen Camilla once again ruled the yearly Dec. 25 march to church, along with Will, Kate, and their three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

The Prince and Princess of Wales coordinated their family, matching their children (and each other) in blue and green outfits. Princess Kate wore a royal blue dress, a matching hat, and blue sapphire earrings that are reminiscent of her famous sapphire engagement ring. Prince William donned a blue jacket and green tie for the occasion. Charlotte wore a green coat with a brown collar, navy stockings, and mary janes. George chose a blue suit with a matching tie for the Christmas walk, and Louis rounded out the group in a pair of tartan trousers and a blue peacoat.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were joined by other royal family members, including Princess Anne and Sarah Ferguson. Couples Zara and Mike Tindall, as well as Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, also joined the crowd for the annual Christmas tradition.
