When Will Kate Middleton Return to Public Duties? Here's What to Expect
Kate Middleton is currently taking a break from public duties to focus on her health and recovery, but according to insiders she is planning to make an eventual return to royal engagements.
The Princess of Wales' prolonged break from the public eye was actually first announced in January, when Kensington Palace released a statement saying "Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter."
However, the timeline has changed since Kate's cancer diagnosis—and she's following the advice of her doctors when it comes to returning to work. In a statement following her official announcement, Kensington Palace explained "The Princess will return to official duties when she is cleared to do so by her medical team. She is in good spirits and is focused on making a full recovery."
Meanwhile, a former palace aide tells People, "I think you will find when Kate makes a full recovery, she will come back even more passionate."
Kate actually spoke about her eventual return to royal duties during her video announcement, saying "We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy, and I look forward to being back when I am able—but for now, I must focus on making a full recovery."
Here's to hoping the Princess of Wales takes all the time she needs to recover in peace!
