Kate Middleton's 'perfect' $6,332 look stole the show at the Royal Ascot: Get the look for less
The Duchess of Cambridge’s latest look is winning praise from royal watchers and fashion-lovers alike.

The 37-year-old royal arrived for Day 1 of the Royal Ascot alongside Prince William and the Duchess of Cornwall looking elegant in a powder blue ensemble by Lebanese designer Elie Saab.
Fresh off the runway from the designer’s 2019 Resort collection, Middleton looked prim and polished in a $2,179 Macramé Pussy Bow Top and $4,153 Embroidered Tulle Skirt. The duchess accessorized the look, which was altered to include longer sleeves and a shorter hemline, with a matching hat from Philip Treacy.
“Absolutely stunning,” one fan said of the royal’s Ascot outfit. “Gorgeous... she is just so beautiful and perfect.”

“Always so feminine looking, absolutely beautiful lady,” another added.
However one social media user was quick to point out that Middleton’s sheer sleeves might be an issue with Ascot dress code, and if worn by another senior royal would have caused an uproar.
“Kate always looks stellar, but let’s be honest, if it’s [Meghan] wearing that, there would be talks of protocol and costs that would last months if not years on end,” they noted.
While it’s true that the Royal Ascot has a strict dress code that includes no strapless or halter-neck looks, the official Ascot dress code makes no mention of sheer or embroidered fabric.
The Duchess’s look may have been a stand out and a fan favourite — but she wasn’t the only royal to opt for blue for the event.
