Kate Middleton Takes Part in This Very Relatable Activity with Other Moms at Her Kids’ School

Kate Middleton may be the future queen, but she’s also just another mom at the school her kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis attend—including being part of a group chat with fellow parents.

The Princess of Wales is intent on giving her three kids as normal an upbringing as possible, despite them being raised royal (with one destined to become king someday). To this end, both Kate and her husband Prince William do the school drop off—the school run, as they call it—and Kate is a part of a parents’ WhatsApp chat for other moms and dads at Lambrook School.

“Apparently Catherine has a WhatsApp group where she communicates with other parents, so it’s very much quite a normal upbringing,” Ailsa Anderson, former press secretary for Queen Elizabeth, said on the recently aired documentary Prince George: How to Make a Monarch (and per The Mirror). Kate also has been seen turning up for sports matches at Lambrook, as well as school fundraisers.

To this, psychotherapist Lucy Beresford added, “I think William and Kate making sure that George, Charlotte, and Louis have these normalizing experiences where they just interact with really normal people actually gives them that grounded sense that they are human beings like the rest of us—they’re not rarified, they’re not elevated, and it could hopefully dilute that sense of ‘I’m invincible.’”

It’s a very intentional approach to royal parenting—and it’s not surprising that Kate is focused on this, as a large component of her life’s work has become early childhood development, particularly through her Shaping Us initiative. India McTaggart, royal correspondent for The Daily Telegraph, said that Kate’s own parenting choices are likely influenced by her own normal upbringing, out of the spotlight and away from the royal fishbowl. McTaggart said Kate has “brought so much from her Middleton upbringing and her family values that I think has completely informed the way that she is raising the next generation of royals.”

The next big decision for her kids? Where they’ll attend school once they age out of Lambrook. George, the eldest, will switch schools over the summer of 2026, with William’s alma mater Eton and Kate’s alma mater Marlborough being considered as frontrunners for the future king’s next step in his ongoing education.
