Kate Middleton Wears Camouflage During Visit to the Queen's Dragoon Guards
Kate Middleton is back in action! In August, King Charles appointed Kate the Colonel-in-Chief of 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards. Today, she's visiting the regiment for the first time as Colonel-in-Chief.
For the occasion, she wore a full camouflage jacket, vest, and helmet. She finished her outfit with skinny jeans and boots, and accessorized with a crimson poppy, to signify Remembrance Day. (Throughout November, royals will accessorize with the flower.)
The Princess of Wales took part in several activities while visiting, including riding in an armored vehicle, and learning about radio communication and reconnaissance drones. This wasn't her first military outing as the Princess of Wales; in March, Kate visited the 1st Battalion Irish Guards and joined them in a training exercise in the snow.
During her visit, she also stopped by the Robertson Barracks at Swanton Morley and spoke with service members and their families. Kate traded her camo jacket for a more classic coat.
It's been a busy week for the royal family; yesterday was the State Opening of Parliament, where King Charles read the King's Speech for the first time as monarch and Queen Camilla wore the iconic Diamond Diadem. Meanwhile, Prince William was in Singapore for the third annual Earthshot Prize, and walked the green carpet alongside Cate Blanchett and Hannah Waddingham, among others. Kate did not join him for the Earthshot Awards, having stayed home to help Prince George with exams. "Catherine is very sorry she can’t be here," Prince William said during remarks earlier this week. "She is helping George through his first set of major exams."
