Kate Middleton has turned to a staple outfit in her royal wardrobe as she continues her gradual return to work. The Princess of Wales chose a black and white houndstooth dress from Zara as she stepped out for a day of engagements today in what was her third public appearance of the year.
The Princess of Wales paired the dress, which has since sold out but retailed in the UK for £89.99 ($112), with black heels, a cream jacket, and earrings from the Welsh brand Spells of Love as she carried out two visits in South Wales. Her first stop was children’s hospice Tŷ Hafan, of which she was announced Patron on arrival. Following this, she visited textiles manufacturer Corgi to highlight the importance of the industry.
Kate chose the same Zara dress in 2020 when she and Prince William visited Bradford for the day. She wore it again in 2021 during a discussion relating to her Early Years work at University College London. And it was her go-to in 2023 for a poignant visit to the Aberfan Memorial Garden.
Despite her wealth, the Princess of Wales has often favored high street brands over designer ones and Zara is a popular choice of hers. She has even chosen to wear jewelry by the retailer for major red-carpet moments, such as in 2013 when she wore a Zara necklace to the royal premiere of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom in London.
