Kate Middleton took a style cue from Meghan Markle for final appearance before maternity leave
A very pregnant Duchess of Cambridge made her final appearance before maternity leave on Thursday as she met with wheelchair basketball players at a SportsAid event at Olympic Park.
Kate, who is expecting her third child in April, chicly marked the occasion in an ivory coat on top of a charming yet frugal floral print top from Hobbs London. The “Rosie” top retails for approx. $89 CAD (£49), features a modest boat neck and three quarter-length sleeves with notch detailing.
What’s surprising is that Kate paired the outfit with a pair of fitted black pants — a rarity for the Duchess, and perhaps a sign she’s following Meghan Markle’s lead with unconventional royal wear.

The outfit was a stark contrast from Wednesday, where she marked the beginning of spring in a fresh mint green outfit as she co-hosted an event at the Royal Society of Medicine in London on Wednesday. For the symposium, Kate ditched her palette of cream tones, blues and florals and opted for a bold knee-length dress with a matching bespoke Jenny Packham coat. Gorgeous!
