Katie Holmes finds the perfect balance with preppy style and biker leathers
Katie Holmes managed to create the perfect marriage between two street styles we love: preppy and biker leathers.
The actress, who has been following a busy schedule as part of the star-studded cast of Broadway’s Our Town, was seen out looking fresh and relaxed in New York City on Wednesday. For the outing, she debuted a head-to-toe look from Cinq à Sept — including a shoe that has not even been released yet.
Up top, she was all schoolgirl prep in a cropped black knitted vest layered over a crisp white dress shirt that was fastened at the collar and sleeves – a two-piece top that comes pre-styled and makes for a classic wardrobe staple.
Holmes changed the tune of the outfit with her skirt, a glossy black vegan-leather piece that channels the biker trend while retaining an elegant look. The Veena skirt has a structured drop waist at the top that transforms into flowing, subtle pleats at the bottom. Silver vintage-inspired buttons hold it together along the centre.
The Dawson’s Creek alum left some of the buttons of her shirt undone and French-tucked one side into her skirt. She finished her look with a gold bracelet and a pair of slingback heels — in light blue denim and caramel brown leather — from Cinq à Sept’s Resort 2025 footwear collection, which launched globally yesterday, 21 November.
The brand prides itself on creating outfits that can easily be taken from morning to night, and it’s easy to imagine Holmes wearing this look from Our Town rehearsals to her post-show happy hour.
