Katie Holmes Wears a Fringe Leather Skirt to the Opening Night of Her Broadway Show
Katie Holmes wore the ultimate day-to-night look when she showed up to the opening night of her new Broadway show, The Wanderers.
Yesterday evening, the actress met with her costars at New York City's Laura Pels Theatre to celebrate the work. Though audiences got to see early performances of the show starting on January 26, the official premiere took place last night, on February 16.
For the happy occasion, Holmes pulled several staples from her minimalist, vintage-inspired closet, and paired them with one unexpected piece: a fringe leather skirt.
The ensemble consisted of a long, textured beige blazer with short, crunched-up sleeves and pockets on the sides, layered over a simple white top. With them, she wore the fun black leather fringe skirt, which was held together by tiny silver clasps and had thick strands of leather coming loose at the bottom. Holmes finished the outfit with a pair of black pumps and long silver earrings.
The star went all out with her glam for the evening, opting for a curly ‘do, shimmering rosy eyeshadow, bright pink blush, and a glossy pink lip. It was the perfect pop of color to break up the black-and-white look.
In red-carpet photos from the opening night, Holmes is seen posing with costars Eddie Kaye Thomas, Dave Klasko, Lucy Freyer, and Sarah Cooper.
Holmes plays an interesting character in The Wonderers, whose true identity we cannot reveal in this article, for it would be a major show spoiler. The play follows two couples as they go through the ups and downs of married life, ultimately to question whether they want what they think they've always wanted, if fulfillment is a social construct, and happiness is something that can ever be reached.
