Katie Holmes Wore a Glinda-Coded Coat in an Unexpected Shade for Winter

I have a feeling this color is about to be very "popular."

With the presence of Wicked in pop culture over the past few months, it was only a matter of time before it started to infiltrate the style of the rich and famous—and not just the movie's main stars. Katie Holmes tried her hand at Glinda's signature pink, but used an unexpected item in her closet to test out the shade.

The Dawson's Creek actress was spotted out and about in New York City on December 21 before heading to her current Broadway production, Our Town, in a classic and cozy winter outfit that kept her warm amid frigid temperatures. The actress was spotted wearing a knee-length wrap jacket, charcoal grey denim jeans and black loafers. The blush wrap jacket recalled the likes of Glinda the Good Witch's pastel pink wardrobe, and while the dusty rose color is not an entirely uncommon color for a coat, New Yorkers are often known for being extremely devoted to black jackets in colder weather months.

Holmes further accessorized the look with a charcoal grey knit beanie that matched her jeans, a black leather shoulder bag that matched her black leather loafers, a cream colored scarf casually wrapped around her neck for added warmth, and black ombre tinted sunglasses. As per usual, the 46-year-old also accessorized her look with a bright smile for the cameras.

The look is yet another that falls into her cold weather outfit formula, which she told InStyle is "is usually based on more, and the double layer. So for now, it's a lot of pants that I can put yoga pants underneath and cozy sweaters and just try to have some sort of balance to it. "
