The Dawson's Creek star was spotted out and about in New York City looking put together as per usual, this time, in a simple outfit consisting of black and blue tones. The 46-year-old sported a black coat that she accessorized with a fun detail—a bright gold belt around her waist with a dangling, chain detail hanging from its center.

Holmes completed the look with a few matching accessories, including a black beanie on her head, a leather shoulder bag, tinted sunglasses, and leather boots, with the only other pop of color coming from her medium wash denim blue jeans that hit her right at the ankle. The actress, who was likely on her way to her Broadway production, Our Town, further accessorized by flashing the camera a smile and waving in the photos.

While the coat and the gold belt appear to be more recent additions to Holmes's wardrobe over the past few weeks, the actress was spotted recently in the same black beanie and sunglasses combo on her way to work on December 11. For that outfit, she wore a camel-colored leather blazer with a plain white T-shirt, bright blue jeans, and festive red ballet flats.

"In the winter months [my outfit formula] is usually based on more, and the double layer," Holmes said of her cold weather outfit formula. "So for now, it's a lot of pants that I can put yoga pants underneath and cozy sweaters and just try to have some sort of balance to it. "
