Since announcing that she was expecting her first child, Katy Perry has been offering fans a candid look at life as an expectant mom. Now, days after welcoming her daughter Daisy Dove with fiancé Orlando Bloom, it appears as though Perry is still determined to keep it 100% real with her fans.
Instead of attending Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards in New York, Perry traded the red carpet attire for some new mom essentials. The 35-year-old “Smile” singer shared a snapshot of her postpartum life in an Instagram Story taken just four days after giving birth.
Perry showed off a new and decidedly more relatable look to her 105 million Instagram followers, with a new mom bathroom selfie.
Crediting “exhaustion” for her bare-faced hair and makeup, the “California Girls” songstress also shared some of her new mom must-haves, including a tan-coloured nursing bra by Medela and a pair of high-waisted postpartum underwear.

Retailing for $31, the Frida Mom Disposable High Waist Postpartum Underwear is a hit among new moms everywhere, thanks to their super-stretchy design, and breathable mesh that keeps everything securely in place following a c-section or natural birth.

“These were absolute lifesavers after my c-section,” wrote one Amazon reviewer. “They’re comfortable, don’t have any seams that would interfere with your incision, [and] they’re disposable. A must-have item for moms who’ve just had a c section.”
“These are amazing! While they say ‘C-Section’ in the description, I had a vaginal birth and these were 20x better than the hospital mesh undies they give you - with the same stretchiness that makes those hospital underwear so comfortable,” added another. “The big difference is these actually stay up and hold pads/ice packs in place. HIGHLY recommend!!”
Each package includes eight pairs of the disposable underwear, with many reviewers sharing that they made sure to plan in advance to have a few on hand before heading to the hospital.
Whether you’re a new mom yourself or are currently expecting and planning ahead, these $31 underwear are a must-have for post-baby life.
