Kelly Ripa Reveals Her "Nose Trick" on Instagram and Shut Downs Plastic Surgery Talk
Kelly Ripa is showing her fans the power of makeup.
While Oscar-nominated stars were putting the finishing touches on their red carpet looks Sunday, Kelly was also getting ready for her own glam moment. As tradition goes, Kelly and Ryan Seacrest hosted their annual Live With Kelly and Ryan's After Oscar Show on Sunday (which aired on Monday morning) to celebrate one of Hollywood’s biggest nights. But before slipping into her burgundy sequin-covered dress, Kelly gave fans on Instagram a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how she gets camera ready.
On her Instagram Stories, the 50-year-old cohost took the opportunity to share a trick her makeup artist Kristofer Buckle does on her nose that doesn’t involve going under the knife.
In the Instagram Story clip, Kelly zoomed in to show Kristofer applying bronzer to the sides of her nose to make it appear smaller. She noted that despite some thinking it's plastic surgery, it’s actually this makeup technique that’s behind her on-camera appearance.
“This is the nose trick,” Kelly reportedly said. “Because people still don’t understand how it works.”
“It’s just makeup, folks. No knives,” Kristofer added. “I know. But you do such a good job that people are convinced. It’s just contouring,” Kelly replied.
The morning after the 93rd Academy Awards, Kelly's stunning gown and makeup wowed everyone watching Live at home. Kristofer also shared the cohost’s finished makeup look on his Instagram page. Right on cue, Kelly's fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts.
“Gorgeous ❤️,” one person wrote. “Stunning 👏👏👏,” another added. “Beautiful,” a different fan said.
Most notably, Kelly’s husband, Mark Consuelos, commented: “❤️❤️🔥.” Kelly and Mark’s daughter, Lola, also complimented the talk show cohost: “Beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍.”
