Krispy Kreme Just Unveiled 3 New Holiday Doughnuts for a Limited Time

Hot on the tail of Thanksgiving pie-flavored doughnuts, a classic character is getting ready to steal Christmas from every Who down at the Krispy Kreme. Fortunately, the chain known for the freshest, fluffiest doughnuts you can find is keeping a close eye on its three new flavors, the Merry Grinchmas Collection. They’re joined by two holiday classics that the Grinch would be equally drawn to plunder.

This collaboration with Dr. Seuss Enterprises to bring one of America’s favorite Christmas stories, “How the Grinch Who Stole Christmas!” to edible treats follows several appealing recent collections. The Ghostbusters Collection featured phantom-focused flavors for Halloween, and the Barbie Collection launched in September with pink-hued treats, complete with a doughnut that portrayed the iconic doll’s Malibu beach house.

But beginning on Friday, Nov. 29, Black Friday shoppers will be lining up for a green character we may love even more than Slimer. "Our Merry Grinchmas doughnuts are guaranteed to make even the Grinchiest Grinch smile,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme's global chief brand officer. “At Krispy Kreme, you’re a sweet one, Mr. Grinch!”

Perhaps sweet in flavor, but never in character. The sullen figure’s doughnut is in keeping with his personality, but thank Cindy-Lou Who for sweetening up the lineup. Here are the new offerings:

  • Grinch Doughnut: an unglazed doughnut filled with “coal” Cookies & Kreme filling, dipped in Grinch green icing with a chocolate icing smirky grin and buttercream hair.

  • Grinchy Claus Doughnut: an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in chocolate icing, topped with white buttercream, Christmas crispies, and a Grinch piece.

  • Cindy-Lou Who Merry Berry Tree Doughnut: an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in strawberry-flavored icing with a green buttercream tree, sprinkled and topped with a star piece.

These three new doughnuts aren’t alone in celebrating (or in the Grinch’s case, attempting not to celebrate) with Yuletide cheer. The returning Santa Belly Doughnut is unglazed but filled with white “Kreme.” It’s dipped in red icing, then piped with a black Santa belt, and finished with the big man’s belt buckle. The Holiday Sprinkle Doughnut is an Original Glazed dipped in chocolate icing and decorated with festive sprinkles.

Planning to celebrate the holidays with the whole gang? Select grocery stores will be carrying both six-packs and dozens filled with the Grinch Doughnut, the Cindy-Lou Who Merry Berry Tree Doughnut, the Santa Belly doughnut, and Holiday Sprinkle Doughnuts. You can even assemble a collection yourself at your local Krispy Kreme.

You might want to do so on Dec. 12, Krispy Kreme’s annual “Day of the Dozens.” On that date only, doughnut lovers will be able to buy an Original Glazed dozen for $1 when they purchase any other dozen at regular price. It doesn’t matter whether that takes place in-store, at the drive-thru, or online—the deal is still sweet as can be.
