Never one to shy away from unconventional red carpet looks, Kristen Stewart's latest Oscars appearance has fans online talking.

The Best Actress nominee attended the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday night in a custom Chanel look that stayed true to her unique fashion sense.

Stewart rocked a black blazer, sheer white blouse and pointed-toe heels, which she paired with an unexpected red carpet choice: a pair of micro-mini black shorts.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Stewart's stylist of 17 years, Tara Swennen, called the outfit "groundbreaking" — Stewart is the first woman to wear short shorts on the red carpet.

“We were teetering between pants and shorts,” Swennen said, “but Kristen, being the fashion chameleon that she is, was like, ‘Let’s do it. Let’s go for shorts.’”

"For us, it was more about creating a look that was authentically hers, as this was her big, special day. She has been wearing lots of gowns, but today was her day to do whatever she wanted,” she added.

As ever, Stewart's relatability won over fans when it was reported that she changed out of her heels after leaving the red carpet.

Fans were also loving that the 31-year-old stayed true to her own personal style, rather than rocking "mermaid dresses" and "princess frocks."

"It's about time," shared one Twitter user.

"Kristen Stewart just being herself and I'm so proud of her," echoed another.

Fans online were also loving the sweet moments that Stewart shared with her fiancée Dylan Meyer on the red carpet.

The two held hands as they walked, and even shared a quick kiss before parting ways.

When it came to chat about her first ever Academy Award nomination for her performance as Princess Diana in "Spencer," Stewart once again got candid about her thoughts on being at the Oscars.

"Feeling slightly hysterically ecstatic," Stewart told ABC. "I can’t believe I’m even here."
