La La Anthony made a case for wearing head-to-toe denim, and she more than accomplished her mission. The media personality, actor, and philanthropist showed up for an appearance on the Today show in New York on January 18 wearing a slouchy denim button-down shirt opened at the collar and tucked into a high-waisted pair of artfully distressed blue jeans. She elevated the casual Canadian tux with a chunky jeweled layered choker and pointy silver stilettos.

Anthony appeared on the Today show to reveal her new role as creative advisor at Airbnb and to talk about the property she designed, aptly called La La Land, in Ft. Lauderdale that will be available to book this Wednesday. The former Power star also chatted with the hosts about self care, putting herself first, season three of STARZ crime drama BMF, and the importance of simply slowing down.

As for her new gig with Airbnb, Anthony is hoping to use her platform to bring more diversity to Airbnb’s activations. “We want to create more tailor-made experiences that resonate with different communities culturally. That’s really, really important to me and something I’m excited to dive into,” she told WWD.

But back to the fashion! Anthony's denim-on-denim look exemplifies her personal style which has always fused cool and comfy with glam. In 2020, she joined Glamour on an episode of our podcast What I Wore When and said that at her core, she's always been a tomboy but can also seamlessly switch it up. “It's all about how I'm feeling,” she said. In her younger years, she admitted she never wanted to wear heels or a dress—it was all about the basketball jerseys, baggy clothes, and a baseball cap—but her approach has since evolved.

She also talked about working with a stylist as she found more success, her love of shopping online, her commitment to high-low style, and how she's not just all about labels, regardless of how much financial success she's had.

Her recent all-denim look seems to support her POV on style—not too feminine but with some drippy accents because she's a celebrity and, honestly, why not.
