Lovers of neutrals, rejoice! Le Creuset has launched a new colourway – a clean, fresh and minimalistic white. While Le Creuset is known for its colourful cast iron cookware – from its volcanic orange to azure blue – these statement shades are simply not for everyone. The introduction of white opens up the brand to those that prefer a more crisp and pared-back look, and we've got a feeling it's going to be a sell out.

White is the neutral of all neutrals. As a clean canvas, it's a shade that lends itself to every season – be it fresh white cotton for spring, or snowy white for winter, the hue creates a solid, neutral base that you can adapt your interiors around as the seasons change. A white cast iron dish on a pale pink tablecloth, for example, screams of spring; place it on a wooden board with white and gold accessories and it's a luxurious winter tablescape.

If you're a well-established Le Creuset fan and your cupboards are already full of the brand's pots and pans, white is the ideal, contrasting addition to literally any colour. Whether you mix and match with the shell pink stoneware mugs, or combine your cerise frying pan with a white skillet pan, white creates the ultimate contrast to any other Le Creuset colourway.

What's more, if you're someone who likes to show off your pots and pans on open shelving in your kitchen, set against a dark tiled wall, white pieces will really pop. Or place them against a white wall for a minimalist scheme and let the textures and shapes take centre stage.

'We know that crisp, neutral and minimalist looks are popular, with the likes of the dominating trend "Clean Girl Aesthetic" showcasing the appreciation of neutrals in the fashion space. So, we wanted to introduce it to the interiors and kitchenware space with our most versatile colour launch ever,' said a Le Creuset spokesperson.

The collection was designed with elegance in mind, and this is most apparent in the classic casserole dish. The design team swapped the stainless steel knob for a shiny gold alternative, creating a sharp contrast against the slate of white. This brings a lovely shimmer and shine to the piece, making it feel extra special and – though a word not typically used when speaking about casserole dishes – glamorous. We must say, this is our favourite piece in the collection as it feels so warm and luxurious.

A Le Creuset piece may not be the cheapest but every piece is a real investment that's designed to last a lifetime. The new white colourway will be available in most designs, including its enamelled cast iron cookware, oven-to-table stoneware, and kitchen accessories, so you can go all out and create a matching set.
