Over the past year and a half, I've been fortunate enough sleep on three different types of mattresses from three various mattress-in-a-box companies. I guess you can call me the Goldilocks of boxed mattresses. While it's almost natural to assume that test-driving a mattress would be a breeze, just like the foolish girl in the fairytale, I learned that the wrong type will heavily impact your quality of sleep. That, and dedicating your night's rest to a mattress that you've never felt IRL can be a very risky move to take. And although the first two mattresses (gifted) were way to soft and plush for the liking of this back-to-side-sleeper, I agreed to give the third mattress a final shot because the hassle-free convenience of moving a mattress-in-a-box into a new and tiny apartment seemed like the most logical sacrifice at the time.
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting a lot out of it. But to my surprise, the Leesa Hybrid Mattress fit just right. Made by one of the OG brands to come up with the innovative idea of vacuum-sealing a mattress into a box, the award-winning Hybrid Mattress combines the benefits of premium foam with pocket springs for comfort and advanced support for every type of sleeper. Supported with more than a thousand spring coils that are designed to help stabilize any movement and a top layer of hole-punched foam that contours to your body and relieves pressure from your back, hips and shoulders, this mattress offers the perfect marriage of medium to firm bounce — perfect for those who don’t prefer to sink into their bed. It’s also great for those who sleep with partners who are notorious for tossing and turning and getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Seriously, this mattress will not budge!

As for my quality of sleep, I can't say I've had any complaints yet. It may be too soon to say as I've only been sleeping on this mattress for only 12 days. But what is for sure is that I have no problems falling asleep. Because I have typically have had issues getting up in the morning, I rely on Sleep Cycle, an app to track my movement and stages of sleep to wake me up during my lightest possible sleep stage closest to my desired wake up time, and from my recent reports, I have fallen asleep a lot faster and have stayed in a deeper sleeper for a lot longer than usual with no issues waking up!

But what I love most about this mattress is easy it was to unbox and plop onto my bedframe — saving me time and money that I would have used for a cargo van if I had opted for a traditional mattress. With the help of a few friends (because the mattress still is very heavy), I unrolled it and used a pair of scissors to remove the plastic wrap and within seconds the Hybrid Mattress expanded to its true size.
Right now during Leesa’s third-annual mattress sale, you can score the Hybrid and the Original Leesa Mattress for up to $450 off! But hurry — this limited-time offer won’t last for long!
