Welcome to October, Libra. Sure, your season ends this month, and Scorpio takes your place, but October brings Halloween, not to mention the end of a chapter. Your September horoscope discussed a lunar eclipse in your 6th House of Health, which stressed the importance of getting plenty of sleep or else risk burnout. This month brings another eclipse, this time a solar eclipse that happens in your sign on Wednesday, October 2. While lunar eclipses, like the one last month, are associated with endings, this one, as it goes with the new moon phase, correlates with beginnings. Unfortunately, any type of eclipse can be intense and stressful, so once again, make sure to get lots of rest. However, be on the lookout for unexpected opportunities, whether romantic or professional. Eclipses are wildcards. You never know what might happen.

A week later, Jupiter, the lucky planet of expansion, goes retrograde in your philosophical 9th House on Wednesday, October 9, where it will stay through February. This retrograde isn't like one of Mercury's backward dances. This means you likely won't notice any immediate effects. However, between now and February, your interests may shift and change. You'll likely pick up a new hobby and love it so much that you shift your schedule to make room for it. You also may surprise yourself by changing your spiritual beliefs, even if you feel very secure in that area.

Then, on Friday, October 11, the transformative planet Pluto ends its retrograde and goes direct in Capricorn and your 4th House of Home and Family. With Pluto stationed direct in your 4th House, you'll go ahead and make changes regarding your home life—anything from moving in with a partner to treating yourself to a new mattress. However, the really big news is that Pluto is currently dipping briefly back into Capricorn (in a shift that began last month) before returning to Aquarius in November, where it will stay through 2043. Pluto first moved into Capricorn back in 2008, but that chapter closes when it finally moves back to Aquarius. Think back to 2008. Did anything important happen in your life? The planet's quick reentry into Capricorn allows us to say goodbye to that time of our life before moving on to the next.

A few days later, on Sunday, October 13, the divine messenger Mercury moves into intense Scorpio, affecting your 2nd House of Possessions. This energy can help you stand up for yourself, especially as it pertains to financial negotiations. But Scorpio energy is intense and a bit unwieldy, so make sure to think before you think. The trick (although we can't promise anything in this job market) is to use this transit to be assertive rather than aggressive.

If you've been having any disagreements with a partner, you should be able to resolve them when the planet of love, Venus, shifts into your 3rd House of Communication on Thursday, October 17. However, this means that Venus is in Sagittarius, which is even more fiery than Scorpio. Once again, the energy is malleable but intense. As the sign of relationships, stability is very important to your mental health, so make sure to get plenty of rest. There's also an Aries full moon on Thursday, October 17, affecting your 7th House of Partnership. This lunation could go one of two ways. You could have passionate sex or get into fights—or, the third option: a little of both. It's important to stay well-rested so that this date ends with orgasms rather than tears.

With so many parties and social invites likely coming your way, it's more important than ever to prioritize self-care.

Keep on getting your sleep once the sun leaves your sign and moves into Scorpio, starting on Tuesday, October 22. The exciting news is that this means that it's Halloween (check out our costume guide). With so many parties and social invites likely coming your way, it's more important than ever to prioritize self-care. Go ahead and schedule some nights in. I'm serious: Put those right in your calendar, like you would a party, to make sure that you don't get burnt out. And while we can't promise anything in this job market, know that for the next few weeks, the sun is in your opulent 2nd House, indicating that at least the stars want to be generous with you.

Finally, the month ends on a divine note when Vesta, the asteroid of sacred sexuality, moves into your sign on Saturday, October 26. If you're hooking up with someone, good luck keeping it casual after this takes place. And, if you're single, you may want to treat yourself to a sex toy to reconnect with your body, and remember that you don't need anyone else to enjoy orgasms so good that you see God. We'll see you in November.
