I'll be honest, I once fell victim to believing in the 10,954-step skin-care routine, under the impression that more products would automatically equal better results. But I've recently come to realize that it's not about the quantity of products you're using, but rather the quality of them, and choosing the right formulas and ingredients for your skin.
So when I was recently introduced to Ilia's The Face Base Milk during a launch event with the brand, I was intrigued by the notion of a one-step moisturizer that supposedly hydrates, smooths, soothes and strengthens skin in one simple step. And having used it for the past few months, I'm fully hooked.
As someone with skin that tends to get easily dehydrated, especially in the winter, finding a formula that's both moisturizing and hydrating (no, they're not the same!) is a non-negotiable for me. And this surprisingly lightweight moisturizer absolutely delivers.
The non-greasy fluid leaves behind a luminous, glow-y sheen that lasts throughout the day. I also love the way it preps my skin before applying makeup: A light layer allows my foundation to go on extra seamlessly, without creasing or settling into fine lines.
At $58, it's somewhat pricey for a rather simple moisturizer. But considering I've been using the same bottle for nearly two months and am not even at its halfway point, it's clear that a little goes a long way.
