If you've found yourself reading this on the fashion section of Cosmopolitan UK, you no doubt know we're in the midst of fashion month. With New York and London's fashion weeks already been and gone on the fashion calendar, it is now the turn of Milan to play host to designers showing their spring summer 2025 collections. And all the fashion editors, influencers and celebrities descending on the Italian city to grab a front row seat.

As such, it seems only fitting that Vogue has traced the evolution of the runway. Accompanied by a gorgeous photoshoot featuring some of the biggest names in the modelling world – hello Amelia Gray, Iris Law and Lila Moss – recreating imagined runway scenes from the 1950s to the 2000s.

Full confession – we didn't make it past the first image. And we dare you to try after you see how stunning Lila looks dressed as an actual debutante.

Some context: this first image depicts Dior's famed collection presentations that unfolded in the fashion house's headquarters. Socialites of the time would gather in a room, mingling with models dressed in the designs. These were intimate previews, inviting only a limited number of extremely rich clients to have an up-close look at the newest fashions.

In the snap, the daughter of Kate Moss can be seen wearing an Elie Saab bridal ball gown. The jaw-dropping wedding dress features a strapless bodice with a gathered, sweetheart neckline embellished with crystal and pearls. A voluminous sweeping ball gown skirt has further bejewelled embellishment as well as additional feather decoration.

White opera gloves provide the perfect accessory, as well as a double-strand pearl choker necklace. Diamond drop earrings are on full display thanks to Lila's chic updo that channels Marie Antoinette.

Yep, I would 100% get married in this dress. You know, if it didn't cost the equivalent of a year's rent (probably).
