‘Like living in a hotel’: Posh apartments by Globe Life Field are renting fast. See inside
Though insulation and wires still poke out of unfinished walls, work on Arlington’s first luxury apartment building is nearing completion.
Expected to open in January, One Rangers Way is the first residential project built in Arlington’s entertainment district. Located at 1200 Nolan Ryan Expressway, the building neighbors Choctaw Stadium and is within walking distance of Texas Live!, Globe Life Field and AT&T Stadium.
The baseball-themed community will have studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and penthouse apartments. Construction began in October 2022, and the building is expected to welcome its first residents in January. A one-bedroom model unit, built inside of Texas Live!, was unveiled in June.
The property is slated to have over 43,000 square feet of amenity space, including a fitness center, lounge, zen garden, bar and an outdoor pool with a swim-up bar. A concierge service, staffed bar and in-house hospitality team will also provide resident services.
Texas Rangers Hall of Fame broadcaster Eric Nadel, who has a floorplan named after him in the building, remarked on its amenities at a media tour on Tuesday.
“Living here in One Rangers Way is going to be like living in a hotel,” Nadel said.
The Texas Rangers and Baltimore-based developer The Cordish Companies are equal partners in the project. The Rangers’ executive vice president of business operations, Rob Matwick, said the property has allowed the team to expand their footprint in the community.
“This connection with the Texas Rangers allows us as an organization to be able to step outside of the walls of Globe Life Field and connect with some of our best fans, Rangers fans, here in this iconic venue, which will be themed throughout with Rangers memorabilia and artifacts,” Matwick said.
Rents start around $1,500 a month, with penthouses priced at over $4,000 a month. The cheapest available unit, a 444 square foot studio, is priced at $1,487 per month.
Building Arlington’s first luxury apartments may have been a gamble for Cordish, but it seems to be one that is paying off.
Almost 70% of One Rangers Way’s units have been leased, roughly two months ahead of the building’s Jan. 12 opening date. Only 97 of the building’s 300 units are still available; almost 70% of those available units won’t be available until next summer.
Hard hat tours of the property will be available starting Nov. 19. Visitors must register in advance on One Rangers Way’s website.
Cordish also developed One Cardinal Way, a similar baseball-themed, upscale apartment community near the St. Louis Cardinals’ stadium. Cordish’s director of residential living, Nicholle Soendker, said the company is focused on opening One Rangers Way, and doesn’t yet have plans for another MLB-themed community elsewhere in the U.S.
The entertainment district is familiar territory for Cordish; the company collaborated with the city of Arlington and Loews Hotels & Co. on Texas Live!, Live! by Loew’s and Loew’s Arlington Hotel and Convention Center.
Last year, nearly $1 billion of development was under construction in Arlington’s entertainment district.
