Where do trophies live, before they’re hoisted into the air or filled with champagne?

As it turns out, Louis Vuitton has a history of making trophy homes for some of the sporting world’s most iconic tournaments, from the FIFA World Cup to the NBA Finals to Formula One’s Grand Prix de Monaco—even the League of Legends World Championship. And this year, LV will become the Official Trophy Trunk Partner of the 2024 Australian Open, which commences on January 14 in Melbourne.

For the occasion, the French luxury house created two bespoke cases for each of the contest’s prizes: the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup for men and the Daphne Adkurst Memorial Cup for women. Handmade at the label’s atelier in Asnières, France, both cases are wrapped with LV’s signature monogram-printed canvas and lined with a deep cobalt-blue microfiber to compliment the tournament’s signature blue courts. The trunks’ outer folding panels are painted with a bright white “V” for victory—and Vuitton.

“After the Trophy Trunks created for the Rugby World Cup and the Ballon d’Or in 2023, we are proud to announce this new partnership with the first Grand Slam tournament of 2024, which once again shows that Victory travels in Louis Vuitton," Pietro Beccari, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, said in a statement.

In Melbourne, both cases will be on show for the start of the Australian Open women’s and men’s finals on January 27 and 28, as well as at the subsequent prize-giving ceremonies.
