'Lucky to be healthy' - RJ Hampshire Update after Crash at SMX Playoff 2 Texas

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's 250SX Monster Energy Supercross Champion RJ Hampshire had a brutal crash during Moto 2 at the SuperMotocross Playoff 2 race in Texas.

While in a battle with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and MX2 2x World Champion Tom Vialle, RJ hit a tough block on the landing of the rhythm lane and hit the deck hard, following the bike, hitting him on the way down. He is also just returning from a wrist injury at Budds Creek, second from the last round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship due to the injury sustained on Media Day ahead of the series opener.

RJ had a good first moto, finishing six and in the mix, but a DNF (22nd) in the second moto cost him 15th overall on the day. He now sits 13th after the 2x points weekend in the 250SMX Standings, entering 3x points in the Las Vegas Finale.
