From the bottom of our hearts, we salute any brave man, woman, or child who braves the winter chill in pursuit of exercise. This is especially true for winter runners who tie up their laces and head outside sans parka/balaclava/fur-lined snow boots.
If winter running is your heart-pumping activity of choice, a pair of leggings that provide warmth without restricting movement is an essential component to pavement-pounding success.
Lululemon is a go-to for athletic gear — but shoppers say one particular pair of leggings are a cut above the rest when it comes to standing up to cold winter conditions.
SHOP IT: Lululemon, $138
Lululemon's Fast and Free High-Rise leggings come brushed on the inside for softness and lightweight warmth. Made with sweat-wicking Nulux fabric, the leggings are designed with a tighter waistband and continuous drawcord that help keep them in place, so you don't have to pull them up mid-run.
"These are so nice for winter running," writes one reviewer. "I wear Align [leggings] in the spring and fall, and these are noticeably warmer."
The 28" leggings are available in seven colours, including deep fuchsia, navy, red and two varieties of camo.
"Love these leggings," reads another review. "They have been warm enough to run in during cold winter mornings but breathe enough to keep me from overheating. They have a bit of compression but are incredibly comfortable."
Lululemon's Fast and Free High-Rise leggings are available in sizes 0 to 20.
