John Krasinski's post-apocalyptic horror franchise receives its third installment, giving audiences a glimpse of how the alien invasion first begun prior to the two films. This time around, the film stars Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o. Titled A Quiet Place: Day One, the trailer show the aliens crash-landing in New York City.
In the official trailer, Nyong'o's character can be seen walking down a crowded NYC sidewalk with her cats right as hell is about to break loose. As she runs to try to take cover under a car, a nearby victim gets snatched into the sky and the car nearly crushes her. The title card reads, "This summer, discover why our world went quiet." The trailer cuts to Nyong'o covered in ashes, only to have her cough herself awake. Another survivor played by Djimon Hounsou quickly places his hand on her mouth to silence her so aliens do not find them.
This film was written and directed by Michael Sarnoski. Krasinski wrote and directed the first two but has seemingly passed the baton this time around. A Quiet Place: Day One premieres in theaters on June 28. Watch the trailer above.
