I’m Completely Obsessed with This Holiday Kitchen Find (It’s Perfect for Fall and Winter!)
While I’ve been trying to get into the habit of cooking more, I’ve always loved baking. Since my husband, Dave, loves the kitchen a little more than I do, I splurged on an apron for his birthday a couple years ago, and have ended up “borrowing” it on more than one occasion to bake a cheesecake or cheddar biscuits. I figured I needed an apron of my own, and thought Hedley & Bennett, where I purchased Dave’s apron, would have something for me. And they absolutely did!
I first noticed Hedley & Bennett years ago, after seeing the iconic ampersand on waiters’ aprons at several restaurants. I was so impressed with the quality of the apron I got Dave (and pleasantly surprised to find out they are Latina-owned!) that I started to peruse their varied collection of beautiful aprons.

I’m generally a fan of more minimalist Halloween decor (like this cast-iron cauldron, and this floral taper candle), but as soon as I saw the Hedley & Bennett x Nightmare Before Christmas apron, I knew this would be the ultimate functional kitchen decor — for both Halloween and Christmas! I love the all-over pinstripe design and the more subtle placements of Jack Skellington and Zero (my favorite character!) on opposite ends of the apron, from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The adorably spooky apron is made of a comfortable and durable 100% canvas cotton and has sleek tieback straps and three spacious pockets. Just putting it on has inspired me to make some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies or even take over dinner duties (maybe just for one night). It keeps me almost mess-free as I cook, and it’s easy to clean itself.
My favorite part? I can leave this apron out in my kitchen straight through Christmas to maintain the nostalgia and magic this movie and its aesthetic evoke. I even find it looks great as a makeshift kitchen towel when not “in use.”
