Earlier this year, Madonna postponed her world tour after she was hospitalized and recovering from a bacterial infection. But the show did go on, and the star opened up about the experience during her Celebration World Tour stop at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn over the weekend. While she has spoken about the health scare previously, she revealed to the crowd that she was in a medically induced coma for two days.

“I was in an induced coma for 48 hours,” the singer said in a video that was captured by a fan. She also took a moment to thank her Kabbalah teacher, who she noted was at her side while she was recovering in the hospital. “The only voice I heard was his," she said. "I heard him say, 'Squeeze my hand.'"

She continued, saying, “When I first became conscious and I saw my six incredible children sitting around me — by the way, I had to almost die to get all my kids in one room.”

Madonna also thanked her friend, Shavawn, saying that she "saved her life" that day.

“There are some very important people in the room tonight that were with me at the hospital. There’s one very important woman who dragged me to the hospital,” Madonna said. “I don’t even remember; I passed out on my bathroom floor and woke up in the ICU."

In a previous statement, Madonna said that she felt guilty that her fans would have to wait for her tour to resume. She said that she didn't want to disappoint any of her fans and that she and her crew had been hard at work putting the finishing touches on everything before things came to a halt and she had to heal up.

“I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone,” she said in July. The Celebration Tour officially started on Oct. 14 in London and arrived stateside on Dec. 13.
