When booking an airplane seat, travelers might not get what they expect. One man took to Reddit to show that a major thing was missing from his window seat on a recent flight: the window.

Earlier this week, the user showed in a post on r/mildlyinfuriating that the “window” on his five-hour flight was just a wall.

Sharing a picture with the post, the user wrote, “'Window' seat on my 5 hour flight.”

In the comments section, the user was met with remarks from others who had a similar experience.

“Happened to me when I was flying from El Califate to Baraloche. The entire way was a stunning view of mountains and mountains. Our row was the only one without a window,” one user added.

“The most massive large mountains for as far as the eye could see. I could only see a sliver of it from the window in front of us and behind,” the user continued. “It was one of the most beautiful views from a plane I’ve ever seen.”

Another user added, “That happened to me a few months ago on a 16 hour flight.”

“This has happened to me twice this year,” One user commented. “I went to New York for the first time, and I was the only one on the plane who did not get to see the Statue of Liberty when we were descending.”

Others, meanwhile, told the original poster that alternative situations could be worse and tried to make light of the situation.

One user drew a picture of a window with emojis of animals, to which the original poster responded, “Thank you this helped.”

“I’d still rather have this than the other two (middle/aisle). I can bundle up my sweater to make a pillow and lean against the wall. Though yeah I’d prefer to be able to see out,” one user said.

“It’s better than having no aisle right?” one joked.

Added one other: “On the plus side you can’t get sucked out of the window.”

The original poster commented, “I’ll live. Just mildly infuriated.”
