Manu Atelier's Le Cambon is a modern wardrobe icon
When it comes to investment-worthy designer bags, you usually can't beat the classics, those designs which have continued to dominate and impress for decades. But, sometimes, a style comes along which becomes an automatic heirloom. These are newer investment pieces that are destined to become future classics, which we celebrate in our franchise The Modern Icon. This time, we're looking at Manu Atelier's Le Cambon, a bag that has come to define the label's new minimalist aesthetic, and has the Katie Holmes seal of approval.
Defined by its rectangular shape but soft structure, the Le Cambon first launched last year and rapidly sold out. It has since been restocked six times, and is now so popular that it is being produced on demand, no small task for the family-run house which puts a huge emphasis on a high level of craftsmanship for every handbag.

In many ways, it is no surprise that the bag has become so popular. Although it comes in four sizes, the Le Cambon 40 is the most well known – a tote-sized design which can fit a 16-inch Macbook in – and is particularly beloved in the brown suede shades which have been trending this past year.
The bag exemplifies the understated luxurious look that many of us are seeking to adopt into our wardrobes, but for a particularly reasonable price (in this market anyway). The 40 comes in at £700 while the smallest size if just £405 – practically a steal compared with some competitors' prices.
"What sets the Le Cambon apart is that it offers a luxury feel at a more competitive price point, making it accessible while maintaining the high standards Manu Atelier is known for," says co-founder and co-creative director, Merve Manastır. "It fits perfectly with our brand’s aesthetic and has resonated deeply with our loyal customers who appreciate the blend of modernity, craftsmanship, and attainable luxury. It’s a piece that speaks to our core values, and it’s one that we believe will stand the test of time."
The launch of the bag marked a shift in aesthetic for the Istanbul-based brand, which decided to shake things up on celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2024, moving towards a more refined and minimal look.
"Every detail of Le Cambon was meticulously refined," says co-founder and co-creative director, Beste Manastir Bagdatli. "From the choice of hardware to the fine stitching, each element was designed to reflect the skill and precision of our artisans."
The result is a bag that may have skyrocketed in popularity, but is unlikely to date anytime soon thanks to its practical and versatile shape. At once both classic and contemporary, you can pair yours with everything from your suit to the office to your off-duty uniform.
