Marc Cain's SS25 Berlin Show Was A Celebration Of 'Bridgerton'-Inspired Opulence And Dreamy Pastels
An hour’s drive out of Germany’s capital you’ll find Potsdam, and the dazzling New Palace in Sanssouci Park. During Berlin Fashion Week earlier this month, Marc Cain presented its SS25 Collection in the building’s Colannades. Standing at over 100m long, the dramatic setting was teamed with classical renditions of modern music à la Bridgerton – a fitting choice considering the series' very own Jessica Madsen sat on the FROW.
Looks cascaded down the catwalk in hues of soft lilac and lemon yellow, including everything from embellished evening wear to floral day dresses and summer knits, showcasing the versatility that Marc Cain has become renowned for.

The Setting
Guests sat in the semi-circle under the Colannades with breathtaking views of Sanssouci Park, before attending the after-show event inside the New Palace. Rooms were ornately decorated floor to ceiling. 'You can always count on Marc Cain to provide a surprise during Berlin Fashion Week, and this time was no exception with our choice of location,' says Helmut Schlotterer, Chairman of the Board and Founder of Marc Cain. 'The colonnades at the New Palace in Sanssouci Park were built by Frederick the Great in the 18th century. The so-called Mopke area around the colonnades is the oldest preserved, continuous clinker floor area in Europe. Seeing our collections presented in front of this historic backdrop is also a very special highlight for me personally.'
The Dresses
Sweeping floor-length gowns bookended the collection; the show opened with a purple pastel knitted dress, accessorised with a chic neck tie and kitten heels, and closed with breezy billowing florals. A mini sparkling grey plaid dress also featured, styled with a crisp white shirt (we’ll come back to that in a minute), as well as a 1950s style A-line gown with waist cinching belt.
The White Shirt
The timelessness of the white shirt did not go unnoticed in Marc Cain’s SS25 offering. One look paired the shirt with a matching crisp white tie, underneath a loosely tailored beige co-ord. Ideal for formal summer occasions, the outfit was punctuated with an emerald green bag and oversized sunglasses. The shirt later reappeared in an oversized ruched style alongside a shimmering black maxi skirt and statement bejewelled earrings in an incredibly chic monochromatic ensemble.
The Knitwear
For warmer climes, one might overlook knitwear as a suitable sartorial choice, however, Marc Cain's SS25 show arrived to showcase the brand’s innovative manufacturing techniques. Crochet style skirts came down the runway alongside breathable polo shirts. We loved the white top and skirt co-ord, completed with a festival-friendly fringed bag, and a head-to-toe red look which included a sleeveless knitted tank.
The FROW
Gossip Girl royalty Kelly Rutherford was the star of the FROW. Wearing a dress from Marc Cain’s SS25 collection, the actress was delighted to be part of the festivities. 'It's fantastic to be here in Berlin for Fashion Week, and I'm thrilled to experience a Marc Cain Fashion Show for the first time,' she said. 'For this special evening, I chose a dress decorated with opulent flowers from the new Glam Collection, which is being showcased tonight on the runway. The cream-coloured coat complements the outfit perfectly, adding an elegant touch.'
Alongside Rutherford was actor Madsen. The Bridgerton star frequently turns a look and for the Marc Cain show, opted for a paired back, but equally as elegant look from the brand. 'I love fashion so I’m delighted to be at the Marc Cain Fashion Show,' she said. 'I believe a casual tailored suit like this is perfect for any occasion, and the sequins add a touch of glamour. Berlin has a special energy that I absolutely adore. It's great to be part of this exciting event!'
