Mariska Hargitay Went for a 'Bejeweled' Look to Celebrate 25 Years of 'Law & Order: SVU'

Calling all Olivia Benson fans!
Mariska Hargitay, the actor behind the strong-willed detective in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," stepped out Tuesday night in New York City to celebrate 25 years of one very elite squad. Sheathed in a silver, sequined dress (available here for $670) by Self-Portrait, Hargitay lit up the red carpet like a disco ball (in a good way). With an assist from stylists Meg Chapman and Jordan LaValle, she paired the flashy frock with minimal accessories and tie-up black heels.
It turns out the metallic look might have been inspired by Taylor Swift. On Tuesday, the actor reposted an Instagram video of Swift performing "The Man" in a bedazzled blazer dress, right before sharing her own photos from the carpet. It may have been a clue about what inspired her look, or perhaps Hargitay was simply channeling Swift energetically, and feeling like "the man."
Without Benson's detective skills, we can't know for sure. Either way, Hargitay hit this red carpet out of the park.
