I'm racing to buy another pair of these M&S wide-leg trousers before they sell out again

You won't find a more flattering, comfortable pair of trousers, and they're only £27.50.

It's not everyday you come across the perfect pair of wide-leg trousers. (Marks & Spencer / Yahoo Life UK)

The perfect pair of wide-leg trousers can be hard to find, especially when you're looking for one that fits well at the waist and has the right the length. I've lost count of the number of times I've ordered a pair of seemingly "wide-leg" trousers online, only to discover they’re too tight on my thighs or around my hips. So when I stumbled upon this pair in Marks & Spencer, I couldn't believe my luck.

As far as comfort, shape and price are concerned, they have it all, and eight months later, I'm still kicking myself for not buying all three colours originally available (they inevitably sold out not long after).

But after months of refreshing the page online, Marks & Spencer has finally restocked them for autumn, and I can't express how happy I am to see them make a comeback.

Equal parts stylish and comfortable, these wide-leg trousers are the ultimate staple you need in your wardrobe.

£28 at Marks & Spencer

The ultimate trousers — not only do they have the perfect wide-leg shape and length, but they also feature a ridiculously comfy elasticated waist, chic seam detailing, and two deep pockets.

Available in two colours: black and navy, for just £27.50, they're in serious demand right now over on M&S, with hundreds of pairs selling in just the last 48 hours. The perfect wardrobe staple for all year round, get them while you can.

💸 Reasons to buy

The elasticated waist is a big winner for me, allowing for all-day comfort, without feeling restrictive or bringing attention to any of my problem areas, and also making for a bloat-friendly, comfortable fit that still cinches me in nicely for a more hourglass shape.

The wide-leg style also falls perfectly and helps to elongate my legs (I'm on the shorter side at 5ft 4), making for a flattering overall silhouette.

Simple in design, it's the seam detailing down the front of each leg I particularly love, elevating an otherwise basic trouser into something chicer. I'm also a big fan of the deep pockets, handy for carrying my phone or keys. Designed well, they don't stick out, either, which is another bonus.

Length-wise, they land perfectly just below my ankles as I have them in M&S's petite length. I did try the regular cut, but found that they were a little too long on my 5ft 4 frame.

They wash really well, too. I've worn them repeatedly and washed them countless times, and I haven't experienced a single issue with the fabric bobbling or the trousers losing their shape, which can often happen with lower-cost pieces.

There’s no denying these trousers are versatile. I've love wearing them with a classic oversized T-shirt and white trainers for the day, or dressing them up with a coordinating black blazer for a smart suit look, or a fitted top and barely-there heels for a night out.

Currently available in a choice of two staple colours (black and navy), they have previously been available in grey as well, so we should keep an eye open in case M&S decides to restock the third colour, too.

✋ Reasons to avoid

I honestly can't fault this pair of wide-leg trousers, they're my go-to for trips to the office, days out shopping, and even for dinner with friends, and I wouldn't change a single thing about them. And at £27.50, they're an absolute steal.
