Martha Stewart Is Hosting a New Reality Show That Sounds Perfect for "Great British Baking Show" Fans
Calling all fans of The Great British Baking Show: There’s a new baking show in the works, and it’s got a Martha Stewart spin.
The Food Network just revealed to PEOPLE that the station has finished filming a new reality cooking competition with Martha. It’s called Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart, and it sounds pretty epic.
The show, which is hosted by Martha, of course, is a little different from your standard reality baking show. It features six amateur bakers who go on a culinary retreat with outdoor elements. So yes, there's a tent just like GBBS, but it's probably a bit less glam.
Every episode will have camp-inspired challenges where contestants will face off in rounds. The winner of the first one will get a one-on-one mentoring session with Martha in her kitchen at home. And, like most reality TV shows, contestants who aren’t progressing well will be sent packing.
It’s not just reality TV fame these bakers are after: The last baker remaining will get a brand new kitchen packed with appliances that are valued at $25,000.
“Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart is unlike anything viewers have seen before, with Martha personally guiding and mentoring these home bakers through challenges as well as the most unpredictable outdoor elements,” Food Network president Courtney White told the mag.
Martha isn’t the only famous face on the show. It will feature guest judges like Carla Hall, Jesse Palmer, and Dan Langan. Food Network hasn’t revealed the names of the contestants yet, but a publicity still shows four women and two men standing outside in front of tents looking all kinds of excited.
An air date hasn’t been announced yet. Still, it's good to know that you'll have one more reality baking show in your TV viewing future.
