From Town & Country

Hearing Martha Stewart casually refer to Snoop Dogg in conversation still makes one pause, even though they have been friends since 2008. "THC, that's the Snoop stuff," Stewart jokes. "CBD, that's what is in my products." With her quick wit—and a hint that there is more to her than meets the eye—at 79, Stewart is as popular as ever. She has been hailed as the Queen of Quarantine with her Instagram posts of her farm, an idyllic place with luxurious farm-fresh dinners, good wine, and miles of gardens. So it was only fitting when she debuted her CBD line of oils and gummies (or pâte de fruits, as she calls them) in September to bring all her fans some much-needed chill. Now, she is launching CBD dog treats, all tested and approved by her four dogs (two French bulldogs, Bête Noire, and Crème Brûlée, and two Chow Chows, Emperor Han and Empress Qin).

As you might expect from Martha Stewart, the CBD products are impeccably done. (After all this is a woman who personally cooks her dogs' food, 40 quarts a month, she says.) Her (human) line of CBD products are modeled after French pâtes de fruits with garden-inspired flavors like Persian lime, rhubarb, Meyer lemon, and black currant. "Taste is so important to me," Stewart says. "Even for the dogs, I chose flavors like chicken, blueberry, cranberry, they are all good and nutritious. When I have guests over I serve the CBD pâtes de fruits on a silver tray at the end of a dinner, like dessert." For her personal use, Stewart likes a dropperful of her oils before bed to help with her insomnia. "It's about relaxation for me," she explains. "I'm not a hyper person, but I'm a very active person and I don't relax easily."

She also adds that you can trust that the amount of CBD on the label is what is in the product—human and canine. The pet treats are specifically calibrated for different animals' sizes and needs, whether they could benefit from pain or stress relief.

For humans, she sees them as part of a balanced life. "It is all about balance. CBD allows you to balance your feelings a little better," she explains. And is there a better goal for 2021 than finding balance? Doubtful. If that sounds daunting, just channel your inner Martha Stewart and pop a CBD pâte de fruits and relax—just don't skip the silver tray.
